Point locations in the new Flex API for AGS are rendered using a Symbol subclass. One of these classes is the InfoSymbol, where an info window (callout) will be displayed anchored at the point location. Developers can specify the content of the symbol as a DisplayObject sublcass. The InfoSymbol was inspired from the FIG: Callout Component.
Below is a sample. Click on it to see it in action, and you can download the source code from here.

will the marker symbol in the flex bits for AWS get fixed for flex 3?
No sorry - all focus is now on the new flex api for AGS.
dumb question but then is AGS replacing AWS? same free/paid model? any summary/overview info we can look at?
thanks.
check out http://resources.esri.com/arcgisonlineservices/ for more info. AWS, from now on, will be evaluated for usage on a customer by customer basis.
thanks for the info.
if you guys are going to trashcan AWS might be nice not to be so stealthy about it ;-)
We use arcWeb services for a major client with poly layers, thematic service layers... a great deal of development time invested. I reviewed the link to AGS, but do not understand how we should convert our service apps to the GIS platform which, as I understand it, is not a service but a application we would need to install and maintain ourselves. Is this correct?
Jason - I can be reached at mraad@esri.com for any ArcWebServices related questions.
Not able to download the source and not able to run the application can u repost the swc file...getting up and error.
regards
